Brief Description:  Fill brake system (35-08)

I tried a number of techniques to fill the brake lines. Car method: fill the reservoir and pump brakes to move fluid through the system…didn’t work. Get a hand oil pump to pump fluid up from the bake bleed valve…didn’t work and made a nice mess (it was hard to get the tubes to seal completely. Finally I asked a fellow RV-12 builder and they lent me this ATS system, which pumps fluid up through the bleed valve at the brakes us a pressure tank. This worked really well. It had a fitting that clamped onto the bleed valve to keep it tight and it didn’t leak at all. It took several times on each side to get most of the bubbles out, but the brakes are working great now. I still need to hit the right side one more time to get the last of the bubbles out that showed up overnight. I’m ready to add some oil and coolant, then start this baby up.
