Oshkosh 2018: I got to spend most of the week working and helping out on the RV-12is "One Week Wonder", where we took a kit from the box to engine running in less than 7 days. What a blast. I learned a ton and it was amazing to see that on day 6 (morning), the build was not as far along as my own build, but by Sunday (afternoon), the build was taxiing along under its own power. Of course they had more help and a lot of Vans experts. Also, I mentioned at my work, GE Aviation, that I would be there helping out on the build, so they wanted to do some interviews. Little did I know that I would end up in front of the One Week Wonder tent with a camera crew and reporters asking me questions. I guess that was my 3 minutes of fame. Anyway, it was a great week at Oshkosh. Lots to see and do and the weather was fantastic. I’m looking forward to flying my own plane next year.
