Brief Description: Cabin Heat Control Linkage (49-08)
I started this once before but realized that I had stolen a couple cushion clamps from another kit, so I was waiting until the avionics kit came in. It looks like they didn’t supply the high temp (white clamps), so I ordered some from Aircraft Spruce. In the meantime I went ahead and slide the linkage into place. Make sure you remove the nut and washer prior to sliding the linkage through all the holes…I learned this the hard way. I did have one set of white cushion clamps that I could install, so I went ahead. This is something that would have been way easier earlier in the build…say when the engine isn’t there. I struggled for almost an hour to get it attached. The trick for me was to use safety wire to hold the clamp(s) closed until I could get the nut started. Then remove the safety wire prior to tightening it up. Hopefully the other 2 clamps go much better.
