I completed the ADS-B installation by finishing up the support brackets and final connection of the wires. It’s starting to get a little crowded behind the panel with all these wires, but I’m almost done. The ADS-B 472 unit (in & out) is much smaller than the 470 so it requires an additional bracket (section 53-08). Everything fit nicely. Jumping again to another section (42M-07) I went ahead and installed the transponder antenna and the communication antenna. I followed the direction in the manual for the comm antenna, but it was a little different than the manufactures recommendation (RAMI). I left off the backer plate and rubber gasket, since this was the only way I could see that it would be grounded. All the other surfaces are plastic so other than adding some rigidity the backer plate wasn’t going to do anything. I’ll take a look to see how Vans does it on the One Week Wonder this year at Oshkosh.
