Started installing the center panel and the first thing it references is to cut the holes for the auto pilot control knobs (section 58). The knob modules come with a template, but Vans has this super slick template (F-00073) that attaches right to the panel and makes it easy to mark scribe the cut lines and match drill the corners. I used a razor to scribe the lines (make sure to go to the outside of the slots). The directions and pictures are very helpful. Once I marked the lines, I used the ruler to connect everything then taped up the edges to use as a guide for cutting. The dremel worked real well, but you do have to be careful that it doesn’t get away from you. Two layers of tape may have been a good idea, but it worked ok with just the one. There’s some overlap with the control modules in case you hit the corners a little. I used a round file and flat file to smooth out the cuts, but otherwise I tried to keep the cuts real close to the tape.
