Brief Description:  Anti Servo Tab Service Bulletin (SB 18-02-03) log

I started on the 2 service bulletins (18-02-03 & 18-02-02). The easier on is the anti-servo tabs (AST), which only required replacing the inboard ribs, since I have zero hours on the plane and no cracks yet. I could have waited, but I figured I was pulling all this off anyway for the other SB, that I might as well add the new ribs to help prevent issues in the future. It was fairly easy to pull off, but I did have to roll the plane all the way to the back wall to get some room at the garage door. It also means I cut off my access to the work bench area. My solution is to lay down on my rolling stool and roll under the empennage to get back and forth. This saves the knees a little from crawling on the floor. I drilled out all the required rivets and prepped the new ribs. I also sanded down the original horns to re-prime them. For the AN426 rivets I used a small drill bit to center drill the rivet and give it a starting point. Then I come back with a #40 drill or slightly smaller bit and angle it to make sure it's centered in the rivet. The LP4-3 rivets stay centered pretty well when drilling out, so I just drill out enough to pop off the head, then it's pretty easy to push out the rest of the rivet. With the thin skin and rib, I didn't think I could tap out the center mandrel without causing damage. This technique worked well.
