Brief Description:  Nose Fork Service Bulletin (16-05-23) log

Where’s the beef. Well it’s here on my new nose fork. After reading one too many stories about collapsed gear even with frequent inspections I decided to go ahead and purchase the new beefy nose fork. This was my Christmas present to myself, but this is the first I got around to installing it. It didn’t take too long, but I did end up painting it to match the gear leg. So far the plan is to have the underside of the plane white, so this will work if that’s where I end up. If not I can always repaint later. Per the instruction, it doesn’t require the large washer, which means the cup washers are spinning against the castle nut. I hope that can hold up to the wear. I tried keeping the washer in between, but I could tighten the castle nut enough to clear the previously drilled holes. Anyway, SB 16-05-23 is complete.
