Doing lots of trimming and sanding to try and get the right fit. Much like fitting the cowling, but at least everyone isn’t going to see much of this work. I start with using the dremel cut-off tool to cut as close as I can to the scribe line, then I follow up with a sanding drum on the dremmel to take it down close to the scribe lin and shape the corners. Finally, I sand it straight with 80, then 120, then 200+ grit. It looks like it will take several attempts to get it to fit just right and line up with the radiator and leave the right amount of gap. It’s a real tight fit in and around all the cylinder heads, exhaust pipes and oil filter. It also looks like it will be a real bear to get the lower cowling on and off once I get this duct installed. Well, I haven’t messed up anything yet, so I think I’ll call it a day.

still more trimming to do, but it's a real tight fit in there
