This is my second attempt to create gasket around the cooler box door. This time I removed the door and applied a thin bead of RTV on the door. Again, I went with the wax paper to protect the firewall, which worked great. Again I closed the door and taped it down. I let it sit up all day and then pulled it open and it came out really good. I had a good seal, but the bead was thin in a couple spots, so I reapplied another small bead in the thin areas and clamped it down again. While that was setting up, I prepped the seal for the radiator and oversized the holes on the radiator to get the fit right. I didn’t get a picture of the final door gasket, but I was really happy with the results…so much that I just kept building and didn’t get any pictures. For the radiator seal I got Cyndi to help hold it in place while I applied tape, then I came back and applied RTV on the sides. This worked the first time.
