Brief Description: Lower cowling close out (38-09)
I installed the bracket and after some slight curving of the close out to match the cowling curvature. Once it was attached to the bracket and taped into position and with the help of some family members holding the flashlight, I marked the hole locations in the cowling. It's important to hold the flashlight over the hole to get the right position. I initially tried using my headlamp as a flashlight, since it’s really bright, but it has 3 bulbs, which creates a shadow and some confusion as to which is the center. Anyway all the holes were marked and drilled. I used the #30 plexi bit to drill the initial hole, which worked out well since it has a nice point and the drill bit doesn’t walk. Then I final sized to #19. I also tapped the nut plates to make it a little easier to install the screws. Once all the holes were marked and drilled, then I painted the close out and installed the plate nuts. I chose white based on my current thoughts on the color scheme.
