Once I found the right tubes to use, then it wasn't too difficult to slide then inside each other. The small tube was the toughest. From now on I will make exactly where I put each part so I can find it more easily later. I also drilled the holes under the plane using the template provided. The vent hole #30 gets one of those special rivets that require you to tap out the mandrel. This was a little challenging, since the under skin is pretty flexible, so I was afraid I would dent the skin trying to tap it out. The solution I came up with was to drill a ~1/4" hole in a small 2x4 then laid it over the set rivet so the hole in the 2x4 is over the rivet. I drilled the hole deep enough so the mandrel could go in the hole in the 2x4. Then Cyndi pushed down on the 2x4 against the interior of the skin (using a pole and reaching in), while I tapped out the mandrel. It worked great, and the skin felt really solid, so the mandrel tapped out fairly easily. I used the left over mandrel that broke off and a hammer. After that I had to climb into the place to hook everything up.
