Well I finally got to use those strings that have been sitting in the tail section for 2 years. I pilled the rudder cables through and attached the rudder straps and the cables to the pedals. I then positioned the rudder so that the hole in the control arm horn measured the same distance on each side. I then carefully taped the rudder into place. I'm thinking this would have worked better with 2 or more people...one to pull on the cables via the rudder straps (F-1258) with even tension and the other to check the measurements and set the clamps...but this weekend it's just me and Pepper, my dog, who is just about worthless when it comes to tightening c-clamps. So I tried it myself and it seemed to work out after a few tries.
