Brief Description: Started routing Options wire harness (31B-15)
I had to skip page 31B-13 since I didn't get an ELT bracket with my finishing kit...not sure if that was supposed to be or not. Then I decided to skip attaching the OAT probe, since it sticks out the side and I don't want to snap it off, when I turn the plane on its side. This makes it much easier to work and as I mentioned previously I was able to shorten some of the wires to get rid of the excess on the control sticks PTT wiring. I also discovered that my hands are way too big to get into all the small channels in the fuselage. My hands and arms are all scratched up, but I managed my way through it...with a little (sometimes a lot) frustration. I managed to start routing the options harness and I thought it was getting crowded on the left side of the rudder mounting blocks so I decided to rout this one on the right side...this was a bad decision as I found out when I got to 31B-25, where it tells you that all the wires should be to the left side...more frustration. Have I mentioned, I don't like wiring.
Also, I recommend taping or getting a marker to note the location of the red bands, since they slide around as you push the wires along….and there are a couple of wires/colors that don’t match the manual, but it looks like vans added some labels so I was able to figure it out.
