Brief Description: Attach control sticks and wire PTT (31B-12)
I went with the Ray Allen grips, mostly because it had good reviews and I like the flush mounted PTT button. I considered getting some cool looking bike grips, but then I would be stuck with the included PTT and I was concerned about snagging a pant leg getting in. Plus I read that the VANS PTT button stops working after a few years and needs to be replaced. Any way the Ray Allen grips fit nice, although the wire length is too short, so I ended up with some butt splices to extend the length. It was also a challenge to get the wires hooked in. The instructions show the wires running right along the channel through the seat ribs, but in order to attach the connectors (which are a bear to clamp) I had to leave some extra wire, which just looks messy. Later on, with the plane on its side I was able to shorten the wires by pulling them out through the control stick holes and crimping on new connectors. It looks neater now, but never as nice as the instruction manual. The new crimper is working much better.
