Brief Description:  Attach map box and inst panel (29A-10)

So previously I broke the map box latch handle and I ordered a new one. I went ahead and ordered the gas strut replacements as well, but unfortunately they are on back order, so it will be a few weeks before I get a new latch handle. So in the meantime, I decided to fix the one I have. A little krazy glue to hold it the right spot and some JB weld epoxy around the outside and it works just fine. It doesn't look all that good, but will probably last forever. I'll replace it when the new part comes in.

As called out in the instructions I slid the map box and panel in place and silicone adhesive worked out well so far. The screws stayed in place and with my left hand in the map box holding a shorty Philips head screw driver and my right hand holding a socket wrench under the panel with my arm bent sideways and backwards about 10 deg more than physically possible, I was able to secure the back screws. This really makes the panel fairly solid. I followed up with tapping and screwing in AN526C632R8 screws around the panel. As mentioned previously I went with the round head screws since I plan to cover the panel with a carbon fiber like sheet, and I knew the counter sink flat head screws would be impossible to line up just right and get clean holes. Tapping ahead of time really helped assembly process. I did have to pull out the center panel and shave it down a little on the side to get all the screw holes to line up. Either the right panel or the center panel was a little too wide., but a little file work and it fit just fine.
