Brief Description: Attach map box to right panel (29A-08)
The story continues...after a lot of research on rivet guns and some trial pieces using a backing plate and small hammer I was able to set the 3/32 rivets (AN426AD3-3.5) all around on the map box. I used the AN426AD3-4.5 for the camloc receptacle. It several failed attempts trying to set the rivets around the camloc. Each attempt kept shifting the camloc and raising it away from the surface instead of clamping up against the surface. I ended up using a 2x2 board (with a hole drilled through it, to get to the rivet) and clamped it down to the workbench, sandwiching in the backing plate, map box and camloc. This worked pretty good, although I think I would have been better off getting a rivet gun...maybe next year at Oshkosh. The panel got a little scratched up, but I can polish those out if needed, but I plan to cover with the carbon fiber look.
The only thing left is the latch...which didn't go so good. $8 to replace, but I went ahead and added in the updated canopy gas struts. I still don't know the technique to get the retaining washer installed, but I'll be more careful next time.
