Brief Description:  Re-coat interior

Note: these next few logs are documented over several days, but actually took place all on the same day (primer & paint).

After being away for a couple weeks I started looking a little closer at all the surfaces and there are some really dry spots that I want to hit again. The toughest area to get goo coverage was up under the fire wall shelf, which is an area that will be visible to most. So I went ahead and committed some more money to a mini gun. It uses a ton less air and much less overspray. I attached a regulator to set the pressure to about 29 psi, then removed it and replaced it with a swivel to make the gun as small as possible. With the small Devilbiss cup system it was much easier to get into the tight areas and it lays down pain very nicely. With the swivel I could hold the hose and the handle in one hand, which worked out nicely. I also learned from the first attempt to get the gun closer to the work and to think about where the air hos is going to touch and paint those areas last.

Before re-painting I wet sanded all the surfaces with 800 and washed, cleaned, vacuumed everything. I also vacuumed the paint booth, added another exhaust fan and ditched the intake filter. With two fans I still had negative pressure, but good airflow through the booth. Seems like I get dirt/dust particles whether I use the air filter or not, so I went without.
