Brief Description:  Interior primer coat

Note: these next few logs are documented over several days, but actually took place all on the same day (primer & paint).

I mixed up my first batch and sprayed some test pieces a few days earlier and now I'm ready to try the real thing. I'm using a Devilbiss Starting line gun with a 1.8 needle and tip, with OMNI Epoxy Primer from PPG (MP17x) with MP175 hardener mixxed 2:1. It seems to laydown very nicely, but the most challenging part is getting the gun position in all tight spaces without dragging the hose or touching anything. (I only touched a couple times, but was able to sand and recoat). The primer is very forgiving. I'm also using the Devilbiss disposable cup system which works a lot like baby bottle to keep the gun shooting paint even when upside down. The trick is to start spraying upside down on some masked area until all the air is out of the paint cup, then it's ready to go. It took two coats to get a primer on all the surfaces. This part turned out good.
