Ok the directions in figure 3 shows to align the long hinge (F-1201J - 25.5") to the lower end, but it leaves open a hole at the other end, next to the access port cut-out. The picture shows an impossible scenario. So most have opted to create a new hinge, and leave some extra on the end near the cut-out to catch that last hole. I read some other logs and looks like Vans had recommended splitting the difference. I liked that option, not because I don't have to cut another hinge, but because this makes it symmetric on both sides of the cut-out. I like symmetric. Unfortunately this will leave it about 1/4" away from the bottom edge, which I think will not be enough to make any difference. I'm not sure why Vans has not updated the manual and figure here, but this was the decision...I'll let you know later if I chose wisely.
