Started the Fwd Upper fuselage section 29A-02. I suppose there were enough revisions to this section that Vans gave it the "A" designation, rather than continuing to roll the revision number. Any way this first page looks like another "do all this stuff to make it look like figure 1" pages. It starts with the cowl hinge...no problems here...not yet. Update: figure 2 shows the 25.5 F-1201J with the tab on both ends which works, but it doesn't catch all the holes as installed per figure 3. Most people opted to add some length to the F-1201J (~1/4" of added length) to catch the last hole, but I opted to keep the hinge at 25.5" and center it. Well find out later if I chose poorly, but I did here from someone that it was Vans recommendation. Maybe the plans will be updated lately The counter-sinking and dimpling went fine except I'll need to reshape the doubler to fit nicer to the contour of the firewall flange.
