Brief Description: Rudder pedals - left side (27-03 & 27-04)
Another long day in the garage. As I was showing my son (Benjamin) how the assembly worked and the toe brakes I forgot to hook up the master cylinders before I started to drill the first # 30 hole. I was almost all the way through one side, before I realized my error. So I hooked everything up and I was only off a little from the right location (maybe 1/2 of a hole). Luckily this was the first #30 hole and the #12 and the final 1/4" hole would encompass my mistake. After that everything went fine. I wasn't quite sure how much to tighten the fittings, but it seemed to work out that the got really tight in about the right position. I know better when I do the leak check. For the brake line tube clamp nuts I figured out a system that worked out really well...for me. Getting the inner sleeve started was a little tricky, so I hammered a small nail into a piece of scrap wood, and then cut off the head, so I could slide the sleeve over it. That would hold it in position as I applied force to get it to slide into the tube just enough. Then it was into the kitchen with a pot of boiling water. It usually took 2 tries to get the sleeve complete into the tube, but it worked fine. I'll show the set up I used in the net log.
