Brief Description: Start working the fuel lines (28-03)
Ok, I've never worked with aluminum tubing or NPT fittings before, so I was a little nervous about starting the fuel lines. I watched some videos, read up on it and then cut off one end and gave it a try. It seemed to work fine, so I tried it again...no problem. Now on to the real thing. I slid on the nut and the sleeve and made the flare. I had read about how it's hard to get the bend as close as the template, but I pushed the sleeve up to the flare and tucked it under the bender and made my first bend. It turned out nice and is just a little on the long side. So I will need to compensate when I go to make my 3rd bend (the 15° bend) to get it in the right spot. Plus I took the opportunity to show everyone at home that I had just completed my first fitting...you can imagine that they did not share my enthusiasm for this major milestone.
