Brief Description:  Final assembly left seatback (26-04)

Everything assembled for the first seat back attached in place. I ran into one snag that I never encountered before and was quite frustrating. Due to the bend in the angles, which I got out mostly, I got a rivet suck half way on one of the holes. I tried everything to work it loose, but in the end I had to drill out a rivet that I had never set. I had only push the rivet in by hand and somehow got it stuck...permanently.
Anyway, one seat complete and one to go. I used the vice to help bend the hinge pins. I purchased some plastic vice grips that worked well to keep from marring the hinge pins, and then took them to the bench grinder to shape the ends. Again the dremmel cut-off wheel worked great to cut the hinge pins to the right length. The only thing left is to safety wire the seat back hinge...I need to get some safety wire and read up on how. (I made a note in the manual to tell myself that I hadn't finished.)
I'm still not sure what the hinge buys you on the seat backs...much like the big airlines, where there’s a 1" difference between fully reclined and “seat back in the full upright position”.
