Well it figures, potentially the most productive day of the week for plane building and I get sick and end up with next to nothing productive accomplished. So I thought I would document the latest on the paint and seat ideas...as of today. I mentioned before I like the RV-14 demonstrator color scheme, so I varied it a little to work for my RV-12 and added some orange as well. I'm also using that same orange in the seat design. Abby at Flightline has been working with me to come up with a nice color option for the seats. I can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm also planning on painting the interior myself, so I've been researching that and talking to someone in the area that just painted his RV-9A (Steve Melton). I feel confident I can do an OK job on the interior and if not, then I cover most with carpet. I'm currently leaning toward PPG satin grey interior. I'm still planning on leaving the exterior to a professional shop.
