Brief Description:  Final drill holes for roll bar base (24-02)

First step here was to fit the roll bar assembly onto the bases. It was quite difficult to get each side started...fairly tight fit. So first I took my scotchbrite wheel to all the edges of the bases and applied boelube to the outside of the bases and inside of the roll bar. It seemed to slide on fairly easily at this point with only a small amount of pressure. So that part worked out well, but the next set me back in terms of a little time and money. I clamped everything together with clecos and preceded to final drill the side holes through the base. The right side went well but after drilling all the holes I noticed the fwd face of the roll bar still had a gap to the base. I could see the gap through the holes. I took everything a part and noticed the holes were different for the left brace as compared to the right. I wasn't satisfied with the results so I ordered a new part. At the same time I ordered a set of 6 wing nut clamps so I can make sure the two surfaces are tight against each other. In the meantime, I took the roll bar apart and cleaned up all the holes I had just drilled to the #30 final sizes. I also read ahead in section 40 (lighting) and saw that I needed to drill a #12 hole for the cockpit light, so I took care of that while I waited for the new part.
