Ok, it very important to read and re-read and looked at the picture and re-read the instructions. I saw the caution note and even looked up the associated references in the manual, but still I figure my cuts incorrectly. The first time I cut 20" of hinge and ended up with four pieces that were wrong. Next I cut extra length (22") to make sure I got it, but ended up with two good and two bad. Finally I was able to get 4 good pieces that matched the picture. I'll have to order another length of hinge since i wasted so much this time. I also left the blue film on the top, thinking I would try to keep it from getting too scratched up before I paint the interior, but I take it off later since I was getting metal chips underneath.
I'm trying, going forward from now, to just prime the areas that will not be visible when the interior is complete and leave bare metal for the areas that are visible, so I can prime and paint, when I do the interior.
