Brief Description:  Left wing upper skins (17-03)

I'm starting to get a system going. I start by peeling the blue film off the inside surface and then use the soldering iron to clear the film around the rivet holes. Then I deburr all the holes. Next, I take a file 90 deg to the edges (to clean up any steps from the factory cuts. I follow that with more file work to round the edges and clean off any burrs, making sure to round the top edge since it will be exposed in the end. Then I follow up with the 2" scotchbrite wheel (with a groove cut into it) on my hand drill to really smooth out the edges. Then I'm ready to cleco in place and start riveting.

Next will be the middle skin, wing walk doubler and leading edges. It's exciting to see the wing take shape. I'm a little nervous about the wing tip, but I'll cross that bridge in a few days. One more week before I'm back to real work instead of just having fun :)
