Brief Description: Prep and install top skin (10-11)
Completed prep and installed top skin. The first step was to cleco in place and check the fit around the HS bracket. If there were any kinks in the skin due to interference I was to file it down, but it looked good so I matched drilled the end holes and removed the top skin to deburr. Once that was complete and a little touch up work completed on the prime area, I re-installed the top skin and clecoed everything in place. I also prepped the ADHARS bracket and riveted those in place as well as the top J-stiffener. I was a little nervous about riveting all the way to the end instead of leaving a 7" space of no rivets, like the other areas on the fwd end, but I followed the instructions. I guess it will be more obvious when I start the fuselage kit. I started riveting the top skin and all the other areas, but I found a bad leak on the pneumatic squeezer. I tried to replace some O-rings, but that didn't work. It still operates, but continues to leak air at the swivel. I might end up having to send it back to Plane Tools to figure out the issue. Other than that it's starting to look like a plane. I'm debating on how much of the next section to start, since I will have to dis-assemble it in order to store it while I work the Wings.
