Brief Description:  Fuselage bulkhead assembly (10-04)

This was more challenging than I expected. First, since I don't have a bearing press I used the recommended c-clamp with a socket on the other side. This worked well once I got everything lined up...good thing, since it looks like I lost the spare bushing...hope I don't need that somewhere else in the build. I did protect the socket side with a piece of scrap sheet metal and that worked great...it just adds another piece to the c-clap press sandwich.

Riveting the bulkhead was also challenging. I had to drill out several rivets, because I didn't like the way the turned out. In locations where the assembly map calls out AN470AD4-6 I switched it out for AN470AD4-5 size rivets except at the edges and where the rivet also goes through the bracket. So at 6 locations I used 4-5 size since it was thinner assemblies and the 4-6 wants to lean over when setting the rivet. The 4-5 still meets recommended rivet set standards.

Setting the nut plates with the pull rivets (CCR-246SS-3-2) was interesting. It actually pulls the pin all the way through, so there is a hole down the middle of the rivet. I had a couple that I didn't think were as flush as they needed to be so I had to drill them out, which was a bear. They tend to just spin in the hole. Lesson learned...don't mess up on the first set of the CCR-246SS-3-2 rivets. Overall the assembly turned out nicely.
