I was a little nervous to start this, but it went better than expected. The template lined up nicely and I used a hacksaw to remove the bulk of the material (even on the angled surface). Then I used the pneumatic hand grinder to get it pretty close to finished and the finished up with hand files and scotchbrite. For the threaded hole I started with the drill press to drill the 5/16 hole out and then used the tap. It was more difficult than I expected for cutting aluminum, but I got the hang of it. I had to back it out a few times to clear the chips.
