Everything going fairly well. New micro countersink along with the air drill is working much better and more controlled. Squeezing the rivets is still very tricky for me, but I got some help from Stephen (#2 son, 15 yrs old) and it worked great. I went ahead and primed the control horns and spar and hinge, but left the skin as is.
Creating the hinge went well also, but the hole drilling template was a challenge to fit in place. I went ahead and deburred one of the templates and tried to file off a little from the tabs so it would fit easier. It's still tight, but not so tight that I feel I'm going to bend something trying to get it in place. It's a lot of holes, so I just did the two that attach to the AST. I'll worry about the other halves another day. Benjamin (#3 son, 12 yrs old) helped me pull rivets...he and I are getting more comfortable with him doing it on his own...I just watch to make sure everything is correct.
Anti-servo tabs complete. I'm traveling for work this week so not much happening this week.
Side note: N629MJ number reservation was approved. Didn't realize I have to keep re-submitting with $10 each year until I'm ready to certify...oh well...it's my number now.
