Brief Description: Building Form Blocks & Pattern Blocks
Drawing the patterns for the Form blocks and Pattern blocks has been a real interesting learning process. I first started by drawing the patterns directly on the board. I was not happy with the accuracy and felt I needed some computer assistance. So I started by opening Excel to see what I could do there. At first I really could not figure that one out so I started looking on the internet for a “simple” CAD program. Because I do not have any engineering or drawing background meant it had to be really simple. Anyway no joy in that search so I turned back to the excel spreadsheet and drew on some work I had done years ago on a cedar strip canoe. Sure enough the skills and ingenuity needed came back to me and I was able to produce the drawings I needed. Tomorrow I’ll go over to my wood shop and cut out and sand the blocks to the final dimentions.
