Brief Description: Attaching Ailerons to the Wing (LH&RH)
Began fabrication of LH & RH W-816 aileron bellcrank-to-control stick pushrods using DWG15A measurements. First found the distance of the flange of VA-111 threaded rod ends to be .25", and then marked a line around the circumference from the edge of each pushrod to this distance (this is basically the same distance measured in DWG15A too). Then I used blue tape to mark 7 dots 19/32" apart. Placed the blue tape around the pushrod before the .25" marked line so that at the end, only the 7th mark overlapped the 1st, and then hole-punched each hole on the pushrod tube, leaving 6 marks where a #40 drill was used. After all holes were drilled, I inserted the VA-111 threaded rod end, leaving the begining of the cone side flush with the edge of the pushrod, and carefully match-drilled a #40 "pilot" hole using a hole in the rodend as a guide and secured it with a cleco. Match-drilled the opposite hole and so on until all 6 holes were match-drilled #40. Enlarged the holes to #30 to accept the MSP-42 pop rivets. Set all VA-111 and pushrod tubes aside to prepare them for final deburring, priming, and riveting.
