Brief Description: Added four additonal rivet holes on VS1003
There are no rivets on the spar cap (except on the sides) above the middle rudder hinge. Why? Spoke with Van's and said you could add them if you desired. Look at picture #1 you will see I added two rivets above the middle rudder hinge on both sides. A total of 4 rivets. You have the edge distance if you want to add them and I feel it would add strength to the middle rudder hinge.
In fact if I had it to do over I wouldn't taper the spar caps as much, wait another inch or two before starting the taper. ( The first thing you do in the plans.)
