Flying Lead RV-14A

Date:  10-30-2019
Number of Hours:  5.50
Manual Reference:  32-7 to 32-8
Brief Description:  Baggage Area

The baggage area section looked so simple, but what they don't tell you is your hands will be dead after putting in a few hundred pop rivets that take 6-8 squeezes each. I ended up getting the floors in and cleco's on the side covers, but won't squeeze the side cover rivets until tomorrow. My hands were so sore that I decided to fabricate the -6 hose from the fuel pump to the firewall instead. I didn't torque the firewall side on yet since I am waiting to permanently install the fitting after I attach the fiberfrax and SS shim stock.

On a different but related matter, another individual approached me about selling my kit and offerred me an amount that would allow me to afford to build an RV-10. He gets to pick out all the finishing touches (interior, paint, avionics, etc.) and I can now afford the bigger aircraft that can actually fit my family of four. Win for everyone, but still sad to see this project go. Good news is I still get to help complete the project since it will stay nearby and hopefully assist with the test flights.
