After reviewing and posting on the forums I changed my wood insert to a foam insert of 1 inch thick insulation from Lowes inside the horizontal stabilizer tip caps. It was really easy to cut with a band saw and shape quickly with sandpaper. Really happy I changed it out and refit the tip caps. Even though it was a bit colder outside than I would have liked, I decided to fill the trim lines of the tip fairings with the microbead mixture and bring the parts inside to cure. Also took the opportunity to make the 2-ply backings to the vertical and horizontal stabilizer tip caps. Hopefully they will properly cure tonight and I can attach them tomorrow. I was also able to finish bending the metal fairing IAW the directions on 12-8. Simply protected them in the vise and bent with a 2x4. Relatively simple.
