Brief Description:  Started on dual battery modification.

Well being bored with nothing to do, and trying to maintain my 5am schedule, I decided to get a jump on modifying the battery box to hold 2 batteries. I had planned from the begining to have an electrically dependant aircraft. Because of this it is wise to use two batteries for a certain level of redundancy. I am going to use two Odyssey PC680 batteries and, thankfully, another builder is doing the same and has already done this mod. Basically he cut the right side angle off and widened it a little for the second battery. I'm taking a slightly different route and decided to flatten that angle back down and use a piece of .063x3/4x1 for the new side. This whole mod leaves the CG of the box off to one side a litlle, imparting a twisting moment on the battery box. The actual aircraft CG doesn't really change other than this combination adds about 5.5lbs over the stock config. Another option would have been to use a PC925 here as a couple other builders have. Tim Olson modified his box to fit that battery but another builder showed me that it would fit in the stock box as long as you rotated it to sit on it's side. These Odyssey batteries are a type of dry cell so they put out a ton of current at once and can be stored or mounted in any position.
