Over the weekend a bit and also today, I started to work on fairing the overhead console into the cabin top and provide a solid base for it to sit. What I did for this was to tape off the whole console with packing tape, screwed it down, and then used standard construction expanding urathane foam to act as a gap filler an to provide a starting point for the base form. Once this was hard I then trimed it back with a $10 electric knife from Wally World. I then painted the foam with some epoxy and put a flox/micro mixture along the line where the console sat and screwed it back into place for a final bed to sit in. Once it setup mostly I removed the console and will allow it to cure the rest of the way before sanding and cleanup of the base.
