Spent some time today doing finish work on the doors to get them ready for paint and the windows. I probably have about another 5 hours to finish them off and be ready to paint. Once painted I'll put the windows in and then they are basically complete. I have to have them to Abby in two weeks which basically gives me next weekend to finish them up and that's it. One thing that has been reinforced over the 1000 hours I have put into this is how much quality tools and material can help cut your time. I had a bunch of sandpaper I ordered a while back that was certainly better quality than what you get in any hardware store. I bought it specifically for use on my 6" DA sander. Well a couple weeks back I ordered a couple nice block sanders and some really good sandpaper for those. I'm just amazed how much batter this paper cuts even compared to the other paper. Do yourself a favor and save a lot of elbow grease and get good sandpaper and blocks. I get my stuff from www.eastwood.com.
