Brief Description:  Completed aft fuse skin bends, started seat back.

I picked up a couple of 8" C-clamps over the weekend to hold my bending form in place. There has been a lot of chatter around doing these fuselage skin bends on the email lists. Many people had problems but it always came back to the fact they tried to improve on how to do it. In most cases those people did the second skin per Van's plans and said it worked great. So I followed Van's method exactly, had absolutely no problem, and they both turned out perfect only taking about 30 minutes!

When I finished bending each one to the 60 degree point they didn't look like it was enough but the fit was dead on. Don't forget that the tailcone skin fit's underneath so it may look like there is a bit of a gap for now.

The other project this morning was to start on the rear seat back. Because of my little lower longeron problem I spent extra time making sure that they were correct. The right was perfect but the left needs a couple more holes drilled in. When you make the uppper longerons it has a comment about only drilling certain holes on the left and it can be a bit misleading. Basically you drill all of the holes on the left but leave out the circled group on the right.

One other thing, I attended the Sportair Workshop on Wiring this weekend. Even though I'm probably above average in understanding wiring and stuff, I still learned things. This is my 3rd Sportair workshop and I highly recommend them.
