Brief Description:  Fabricated construction angles.

As usual Van's response time is miserable so I decided to use a 6' piece of 063 angle that looks like it was probably meant for this purpose. I made the two construction angles and have the right skin basically ready to be rolled. The two most outstanding tips on this operation that I have found are to use hardwood, no pine, and to make sure that the forming block is solidly clamped down which can not be accomplished with your standard squeeze clamps. So I used poplar for the forming block and I need to pick up a couple of 8" C clamps. Poplar should work well enough for this. The block was a bit of a pain to cut, because of the two complementary angles, but I got it done after only one screw up. I also had to use some epoxy to patch a small spot where the saw blade got a little off. The next two days I have my EAA Sportair workshop on Wiring and Avionics so no work on the -10.
