Brief Description:  Finished attaching rear bulkhead covers.

I spent a couple hours this morning finishing up the bulkhead covers/hat shelf door. I'm generally happy with how it turned out and I didn't have any major problems. If I was doing it again there are a couple things I would do differently thought. First I would have layed out the front angle rivets where the hinge and lower panel attach rather than doing it on the fly. I also would have used 1" wide hinge so it completely covered the angle. While I was able to make everything work ok, that piece of angle ended up with a lot of rivets in it. First I riveted on the hinge to the angle with the door attached (I couldn't get the hinge pin in once it was in place so it had to be riveted on in one piece) which probably could have had just a couple of keeper rivets rather than a normally spaced line. When I came back for the nutplates it was a tight squeeze between the rivets. I also ended up with the nutplate attaches basically at the bottom of the hinge in order to get good edge distance. Not a big deal as the nutplate rivets do nuthing but keep it from rotating, just a pain. I also had the top left nutplate move a little as I was drilling it leaving me to have to oversize the hole to realign it. Looks a little crappy but it will be covered anyway. Was it worth the effort? Absolutely! Besides having the extra space I now have a solid bulkhead cover that air won't move through because of the stock corregation. Don't forget air penetration also equals noise penetration. I also gave the inside of the shelf door a quick coat of white paint as I wanted to see how well the QuietCoat can be covered. QuietCoat by itself tends to blush when rubbed hard so painting over it will make it a little tougher and prevent the color change that comes with the blush. Eventually I will paint to match the interior. All that is left is to make a gasket out of RTV for around the lower cover and install the right side baggage panel.
