Brief Description:  Doors

Ah the doors. Most people I talked to spent anywhere from 15 to 40 hours per door getting thm mounted and fitted. I can certainly belive this given the amount of time I'm spending on them. Today I spent a couple hours this morning getting the door struts in place and attaching them temporarily. Nice to see the doors held up on their own. Many people have seen their doors be asymetrical when in the open position because of little variances and mine are no exception. You can see in the one picture that pilot side door is slightly higer than the other. When I returned from picking up the camper at Airventure, I got to work on the doors again. I spent the vast majority of the afternoon working on the pax side door and I am very happy with the results. It took a LOT of sanding and fitting but it opens and closes very well. I also took a cue from another builder and coated the door edge with packing tape and then filled the gap between the door and the sill with a flox mixture. Once this sets up and is sanded to a nice conture it should give me a very nice fitting door. Of course most of the time when people put the door seal on it screws up the fit but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
