Brief Description: Installed MB antenna in right tip.
Almost forgot about the MB antenna. I stripped 40 inches of RG-58 bare and spot glued it to the outermost edge of the wingtip running front to back. This worked very well and it also allows me to fine tune the length by snipping it shorter should I have any problems with reception. Jim Weir says 34.4 is the correct length but I have heard anywhere from 29 to 40 inches so I made mine 40.
I also put on a standard BNC connector and then stress relieved it with ShoGoo. After that was fairly hard I made a little ramp out of hot glue and then glued it to the ramp. This gives me a solid mounting point with enough clearence to attach the other connector to it.
**Followup - I did the math myself on the marker beacon and a 1/4 wave antenna @ 75mhz should be 39.375 inches long so 40 inches should be fine for a MB antenna.
