Brief Description: Little electrical, little fiberglass
Today I finished up the hardpoints and set the rear pads for the seatbelts. Each hardpoint has a 6x6 piece of S glass and then each pad is connected by a 6" strip of S Glas to it's neighbor giving each pad 3 layers of S glass. S glass has a higher tensil strength than the standard E glass normally used in fiberglass work. I also potted the rear pads but not the front yet as I'm not 100% sure I want to use Inertial reals in the front yet. I'll make that decision, along with many others, at OSH. I also need to tap the rear pads and then glass them in for a smooth transition. I do feel a lot better about these hardpoints than the stock cabin points. It would take a lot to rip one of these out, something I don't ever plan on finding out. I also finished mounting the battery cables in the tunnel and put the ends on to connect to the firewall bulkheads. While I was going to have the single NEG connection point at the firewall I might add a second back by the battery. I'm not too concerned about ground loops as long as everything goes back to one of those two points.
