Brief Description:  Door work

The doors were essentially done but I had a couple things to do to them before they are 100%. The first is the center door lock. After a number of these were flying, people noticed the venturi effect over them were causing the middle to pull outward a bit. This could cause noise, leaky seals, or at the extreme, the door could pop open. To battle this, the aftermarket community came up with a cam lock to help pull it tight and hold it. It had the added benifit of ensuring both door pins were engaged which was another problem that was popping up.

The second thing I decided to do was related to the interior handles. The factory solution for a handle left a lot to be desired so I went with a machined replacment for the inside and outside of the door. However the set I got was a prototype and really needed some fit an finish work. The pilot side button would stick from time to time, keeping the position lock from engaging fully. So I have completely dissasembled them, ran them through the ultrasonic cleaner to get rid of the old grease, and threw them in the vibratory tumbler to get rid of any burs and finishing marks.
