Today I began the dissassembly and prep. One of the things I need to figure out is the best way to modify the two outside panel ribs to be more avionics friendly. Van doesn't like his airplanes to be used for IFR or for them to have high end avionics that support IFR flight, probably to help him limit liability. To further this they design the panel support structure so that it isn't very easy to mount anything but old steam gauges. Almost everyone building an IFR capable RV has had to modify the panel ribs so this isn't really a big deal.
