Brief Description:  Testing of ceramic paint additive - Part 3

I slathered on a thicker coat of both paints which should give a better idea of actual performance. The only other option would be to put the paint on the inside which may work better as it wouldn't be trying to stop it after the wood is heat soaked. Anyway, here are the new results:

(Test 2)
5 Minutes: Insulated 82; non 86.
10 Minutes: Insulated 87; non 93
15 Minutes: Insulated 92; non 98

So it appears the stuff does work as advertised. 4-6 degrees might not seem like much but it is a fair difference. When I was checking the top, which surprisingly was maintaining nearly the same temp as the sides, the temperature would jump 20 degrees when I went over the unprotected screw that goes all the way through. One note, I thinned the paint with the additive a bit to help compensate for the thickening. In retrospect I may have done this a little too much which would account for the big defference in the first test. This was going to be my last test but I have decided to paint the inside and see what that does.
