Brief Description:  Communications Antennas

I finally started working on my RV after nearly a year of inactivity. I decided to install the communications antenna's for my Garmin GNS-430W Comm/Nav radio and my ICOM A210 comm radio. I measured a point near the center of the fuselage, aft of the baggage compartment, and separated the two antenna's by the minimum 26". In picture #1, I made a cardboard template to align the holes; drilled, deburred and sanded. In Picture #2, I made a reinforcement plate and a backer plate for the antenna mount. In picture #3, I mounted the antenna on the aircraft belly.
