Brief Description: Installing Elevator Push-Pull Tube
I cut the elevator push-pull tubes from AT6-0.35X1 1/2" tubing to 81 11/16 inches. Next I primed the inside and outside of the tubing. To get the rivet holes perfectly spaced, I drew a 1/4" line on the back side of some emery cloth cut to length around the tubing. The I used a rivet spacing jig to mark 8 holes. I taped the marking cloth onto the push-pull tube, inserted the threaded rod end, and used a center punch to mark the holes for the rivets (picture 1). I drilled the holes for the rivets, deburred and installed 8 evenly spaced MSP42 Blind rivets. Finally I installed the MD3616 Rod End Bearing with will be bolted into the Elevator Belcrank and Elevator attachment horns (picture 3).
